Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Are these compliance experts new to healthcare? Not at all. We leverage over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry to strengthen the processes and procedures of each non-compliant long-term care facility. Our consultants are dedicated to corporate compliance and administration.

  2. How are the compliance experts of Access to the Top different from the ones at a big-name consulting firm? Instead of focusing on profit margins, our regulatory compliance experts believe in using empathy and compassion to strengthen long-term care facilities.

  3. Why are nursing homes so bad? One reason is that administrators often struggle to find affordable compliance consultants who specialize in long-term care facilities.

  4. What happens if a long-term care facility remains non-compliant with the state? The facility will run the risk of losing their operating license. If this happens patients, the staff and the community will be immediately impacted. We don't want your facility to be listed among the worst nursing homes in Illinois.

  5. What are the different types of long-term care facilities that you can offer assistance?
We offer our services to skilled nursing homes, continuing care retirement centers, adult family homes, retirement/independent living centers and memory care centers.

  6. Do the compliance experts maintain any professional degrees or certifications? While we maintain a staff of educated junior-level consultants in supportive roles, each of our lead regulatory compliance experts maintain a combination of graduate degrees and industry-specific certifications. But it does not stop there. All of our consultants are self-motivated and dedicated to continuously sharpening their compliance expertise and actively engage in year-round professional development training.

  7. What if our facility cannot afford your services? Consultations are always complimentary to you. After we determine that our experts are a perfect match for your facility's specific needs, we can hand hold you through a plan of action. We pride ourselves on offering big-name service at community-centered prices.

  8. Who regulates nursing homes? Nursing homes in Illinois are licensed, regulated, inspected and/or certified by a number of public and private agencies at the state and federal levels, including the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). These agencies have separate -- yet sometimes overlapping -- jurisdictions.

  9. If my facility is located outside of the Chicagoland area, are we still qualified for a consultation? Yes! We encourage every facility owner, nurse manager and even administrators to contact us for a complimentary consultation to discuss their specific compliance needs. Most of our customized services can be conducted with a hybrid approach.
